Cross Country World Cup: Rudy project once again at the top with the Giant Italia Team

Exciting finishes the past week for Rudy Project. The Italian-based company has once again chalked up two victories in the Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup thanks to the athletes of the Giant Italia Team. It was a two-fold success, in which the Slovenian Blaza Klemencic together with the Spaniard Ivan Alvarez Gutierrez both won third place in Schladming, Austria.
But that’s not all. Team Giant, thanks to its total points earned up to this point, secured the top place in the overall score at the end of the 2008 World Cup. The athletes in this adventure wore two of the jewels of the Rudy Project collection: the Actyum helmet and the Sportmask Performance sunglasses.

The helmet is the product of a 10-year collaboration with athletes from all over the world and is distinguished by its In-Mold construction technology, its 26 aeration vents, the reinforcements in Kynetium (combination of Magnesium, Silicium and Titanium, an advanced material that has been used by Rudy Project for some time in the construction of its glasses), new internal leather pads that guarantee an unprecedented comfort, the new RS7R DISC retention system, the streamlined and modern design and comes in a number of attractive colors. The package is completed by the exclusive removable visor, two sets of interchangeable pads, with or without insect netting, and the microfiber pouch, where the helmet can be stored when not in use. Actyum not only surpasses European safety tests, but also meets the most stringent US and Australian safety standards.

For eye protection, the Giant team members entered the race with the Sportmask Performance sunglasses, which once again demonstrated they are the ideal companions to deal with any extreme situation. With aerodynamic design and aggressive appearance, emphasized by the lateral Rudy Project logo in racing format, the SportMask Performance model has super-flat rims, made in Grilamid TR 55 LX and perfect for wearing under the helmet, with an adjustable nose piece in soft silicone for total comfort. The one-piece wrap-around lens ensures distortion-free peripheral vision and features a front spacer that improves aeration of the lenses and prevents fogging. Thanks to the innovative QuickChange lens system, SportMask Performance makes it possible to handle any change in weather conditions.
