Mountain Bike: Rudy Project conquers Europe with Alexey Medvedev

A very tough race with a scintillating finale and a superb sprint to the finishing line. Alexey Medvedev turned in a truly superb performance to become the 2011 European Marathon Champion in Kleinzell, Austria, ahead of the excellent Jukka Vastaranta and Tim Bohne.

A victory obtained with both the body and the mind, over a course 100 km long with an height gain of 3000 metres, distributed over a myriad of sharp rises and steep climbs. Here was excellent teamwork by the riders from the Elettroveneta-Corratec team, all sponsored by Rudy Project, who planned the race so well that they avoided falling into the traps of the very strong Austrian and German teams.

And Alexey Medvedev also won the second leg of the Alpen Tour Trophy, a 73 km stage from Hochwurzen to Reiterhalm. A very exciting race in which neither the frost nor the snow could stop the “Tsar” from winning the head-to-head with the brilliant Uxe Hochenwald.

Determination, lucidity and control are the characteristics that make the difference during a race, alongside accessories which can make sure an athlete always gives his very best. This is why Alexey Medvedev chooses Sterling, the light, comfortable and resistant Rudy Project helmet, designed to meet the needs of bikers who ride for many hours on rough terrain. This helmet guarantees top ventilation levels, thanks to 18 large and well-positioned air vents which channel the airflow inside the helmet and extract humidity. Sterling also has an extremely comfortable fit thanks to the retention system, with 3-position height adjustment. And its exclusive “strap loop” permits rapid and precise regulation of the straps, which can be secured using a runner you can adjust even while on the move. In addition, Sterling is available with two different types of internal padding, made of allergy-proof and sweat-proof materials, with or without an insect protection net, and which are easy to remove and wash. A light removable visor is also connected directly to the helmet.

The double moulding structure is fitted with specially shaped reinforcements, which are also useful for resting sunglasses on. This helmet is also remarkable for its lightness, weighing just 230 g.
