Serius fall for the Liquigas-Cannondale champion Ivan Basso during a training session along the street of the Etna volcano. The cyclist knocked the head and the face violently suffering several cuts and bruises. After the accident Ivan has been subjected to suture intervention to the eyebrow and cheekbone. The Rudy Project cycling helmet and the bicycle glasses have however avoided far more serious consequences. The Sterling helmet totally protected the head of the champion absorbing the impact and excluding dangerous cerebral traumas while the Noyz sunglasses equipped with unbreakable ImpactX lenses avoided every possible injury of the eyes. He has commented the happening on Twitter pointing on safety and the need to use protection systems that are reliable and of excellent quality to assure the maximum safeguard of the body:

Ivan Basso, as affirmed on the statements of the Liquigas Cannodale's press release, has reminded in this way this traumatic event: 

"I was really scared, because the impact was violent and in a delicate area. I didn't need this accident but it certainly won't stop my preparation for the Tour. I'll restart my approach gradually over the next few days"

Rudy Project wishes Ivan a quick recovery to give to his fans important results at the Tour de France.
