The big sailing events have a new protagonist: it’s the Rudy Project Sailing Team, the company crew of the italian company, who rose to the third step of the Latium Match Cup podium at their debut race.
The match, which is held at Fiumicino - Rome from the 11 to 16 September, is the sixth stage of the prestigious World Match Racing Tour calendar of ISAF (International Sailing Federation). To mark the occasion—which is similar to the America’s Cup and sees top ranking international skippers and the key protagonists of the America‘s Cup compete using the same boats—Rudy Project took part with an extraordinary crew of sailors: the Dane Sten Mohr, helmsmen of the BMW Oracle at the America’s Cup 2007; Jann Neergarrd, mastman and grinder of the same team who won the America’s Cup with Alinghi in 2003, and Mikkel Rossberg, trimmer for Desafio Espanol.
The new team competed wearing the latest Zyon Sailing eyewear from the 2008 Rudy Project Collection. Purposely studied for sailing enthusiasts, they not only guarantee maximum protection, but also provide elevated performance, thanks to the special ImpactX, photochromic, polarized lenses which allow for clear and easy reading of the instruments on board.
