Fantastic result for Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing in the Miami-Lisbon leg of the Volvo Ocean Race: in a nail-biting finish, Team Azzam won, finishing just under six minutes ahead of the runner-up (Groupama).
After 3,500 miles and 12 grueling days of sailing in the Atlantic, the finish of the seventh stage gave the Abu Dhabi crew a thrilling triumph and meant incredible satisfaction for Rudy Project, whose technology conquered all the obstacles to concentration: water, salt, wind, roll, and reverberations.
There was no lack of surprises, with a struggle to the last breath between the first two boats in the race to the finish line, but skipper Ian Walker and his crew kept their nerves to win Leg 7. A trial also brilliantly passed by Genetyk HydroSailing™, the brand new Rudy Project sunglasses that also travel aboard the Abu Dhabi Volvo V60.
Genetyk HydroSailing™ is the model preferred by sailors because of the hydrophobic polarized Polar3Fx Hydrotek lenses, that have been given a special treatment to prevent water from clinging to the outer surface. The use of stainless steel screws that prevents corrosion from salt rounds off this exclusive design.
Wave-proof sunglasses that constantly offer all-round protection from glare and perfect visibility, enhanced by the wide visual field of the lens. Champions in the art of winning, Rudy Project have also developed special terminals and an adjustable nose piece for maximum adherence to the face even in the most extreme situations...like the frenzied pace of being on board during a race.
