PREVENTION AND PROTECTION
Sport means fun, effort and sacrifice but it also means concrete exposure to the specific risks of every athletic activity (falls, knocks, scratches ...). That is why it is necessary to wear - both when training and competing - a helmet which can protect your own health and the health of those dear to you. Many factors contribute to creating a protective and safe helmet, including the structure, the accessories (the visor, the micro insect net, the stickers, etc.), the colouring and other significant parts which all help with the protection of athletes. Rudy Project has always been a leader in the search for and development of highly-advanced solutions for protecting the head and face against trauma and only uses the most innovative and modern technologies in its products.
QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS
Falls can prove to be very costly and have permanent consequences. The starting point for the development of Rudy Project's cycling and mountain bike helmets is the adoption of excellent quality materials which guarantee safety and reliability. This is why Rudy Project undertakes to use only highly-advanced materials which can absorb shocks and dissipate the mechanical energy without it being transferred to the head and body. The structure of Rudy Project helmets is in EPS, a material which can disperse the force caused by an impact through a plastic deformation and therefore ensure high resistance.

MOLD-TECHNOLOGY STRUCTURE
The primary objective of Rudy Project is to reduce the consequences of accidents to a minimum. For this reason, in the construction of our helmets, In-Mold molding technology is employed. This technology makes it possible to cast the external polycarbonate cap directly during the injection stage of the expandable polystyrene (EPS), thereby making it possible to create a much more rigid structure which is knock-resistant and extremely light. The internal EPS structure has the function of absorbing the energy developed by the knock while the rigid external cap provides the helmet with greater impact resistance. The "Butterfly" is a semi-rigid structure made generally of a plastic material which is inserted inside the EPS structure, during the In-mold molding technology stage and which helps to reinforce the helmet and make it resistant and flexible at the same time. The combined action of the EPS structure, the polycarbonate cap and the butterfly creates resistance to the mechanical action exercised by an impact and dissipates the energy in order to prevent it from being transferred to the head of the person wearing the helmet. The butterfly also plays the important role of maintaining the EPS structure compact during impact, preventing parts from detaching, which could leave certain areas of the head dangerously exposed.

DESIGN
Rudy Project has always undertaken to create cycling and mountain bike helmets with a great aesthetic appeal which are marked out by their dynamic, racy and highly-advanced lines. The structure of the helmet is designed in order to efficiently disperse the energy developed by knocks and, at the same time, to prevent sharp objects like branches or rocks from accidentally penetrating the slots and injuring your head. In addition, the openings for ventilation are designed to ensure excellent internal aeration so that you get maximum comfort in all conditions.
FLUO COLOURING
Being visible is indispensable for preventing accidents. The cause of accidents is often a lack of attention on the part of others and this is why Rudy Project has decided to offer fluo colourings for many of its helmets making them stand out in the eyes of others. Helmets with fluo colours are a form of passive safety which increases the visibility of those wearing them and, as a result, prevents the risk of accidental crashes. The Yellow and Orange fluo colours guarantee optimal visibility in all weather and light conditions, both during the day and at night. And these fluo colours are not just safe, they are really cool too. The best international cycling teams use the colours to mark themselves out within the group and to have a really cool look.
REFLECTIVE STICKERS
To further increase the safety aspects of its helmets, Rudy Project has designed the SRS system (Safety Reflex System). The reflective stickers are positioned on the surface of the helmets in a strategic manner in order to increase the visibility of the helmet when light is poor.

BUG-STOP
When you are out cycling, insects can occasionally get inside your helmet through the ventilation slots. As well as being annoying, this can also be very dangerous. Insects like bees, in fact, trapped between the helmet cap and your head, can sting and cause risky allergic reactions. To resolve this, Rudy Project has created removable Bug-StopTM padding with a thin, thick-mesh net which can stop bugs from entering and maintain correct helmet ventilation at the same time.
VISOR
The visor is a useful accessory which protects the face against knocks and scratches caused by impacts with branches and other sharp objects and acts as a shield against sunrays, so that you have an optimal view of the terrain at all times. Almost all Rudy Project helmets have a light, removable visor which, as well as making the helmet safer, also adds an aggressive look.
